The Austin Triathlon
Imagine a world class triathlon held in the front yard of one of the most active and outgoing cities in the US. Imagine a large event with the atmosphere and intimacy of a small hometown race. Imagine biking down the most historic street in Texas. Imagine the fun. That is The AVIA Austin Triathlon. The olympic distance course is a 1500 meter swim, 40 Km bike, and a 10 Km run. The sprint course is a 700 meter swim, 27 Km bike, and 5 Km run. Both events will use the same course. The Olympic distance will complete 3 laps on the bike course, and 2 laps on the run course. The sprint distance will complete 2 laps on the bike course, and 1 lap on the run course.

Texas Performing Arts invites you to push the envelope of new music with pioneering composer and video artist Jean Piché. Since the early 1970s, he was one of the first composers to employ emerging digital audio technologies in a cycle of fixed media works acknowledged as seminal to the form. His works cross every genre of electro-acoustics but now center on video-music in which electronic visuals become an extension of musical discourse. In 1980, a team of engineers designing the Congress Avenue bridge unknowingly created crevices that would soon become the home to the largest urban bat colony in North America. In celebration of an Austin original, the Austin Bat Run 5K will convene on the north shore of Lady Bird Lake at the Buford Bell Tower. The Run/Walk will commemorate the 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats that call Austin home.

Kerrville Folk Festival
Join 30,000 music fans as the music continues for 18 days with performances by more than 100 singer songwriters and their bands. Interspersed between weekends are workshops in songwriting and booking and management for touring artists performance and recording. The annual Kerrville New Folk songwriting competition is held on the first weekend and draws 32 of the best of America's emerging songwriters. Award winners are recognized at a special concert on the second weekend.

Whoa! Beer, BBQ, Live Music, and Games! Roadway Events and Texas Rockfest are proud to announce the first annual Brew-B-Que. Live Music. Beer Sampling. Bar B Que. Games of Skill...Don't miss the Lumber Jack Show featuring: chainsaw racing, obstacle pole racing, world champion cross-cut sawing, log rolling, spring board chopping, standing block chopping, underhand chopping and more. Bring the rat to Austin's 2nd annual chihuahua races, or compete in the backyard BBQ challenge. Don't forget to shine your pit, give your team a bath, and put on your best aprons for our camera peeps who will be filming a full length documentary on BBQ techniques, teams, and of course beer! But wait! That's not all. Brew B Que is also a beer tasting event. Professional and home brewers will be showcasing their suds and discussing the art of brewing. Beer Game competitions include activities like Washers, Quarters, Darts, Horseshoes, Coaster Flipping, Empty Keg Tossing, Beer Trivia, Beer Belly Competition, Beer Pong and more (Pint Chug cancelled due to regulations). Austin Home Brew will do 2 live brewing demonstrations on stage unveiling the art and chemistry of brewing beers. There will be a Q&A session during and after the demonstrations .

FREE to the public (with a donation of three healthy, non-perishable food items or a cash donation to the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas), the event draws upwards of 15,000 spectators and more than 350 entries every year.
